Clare cup enters final stage with full program of games this weekend

In hurling and Newmarket on fergus have almost secured their place in the last four of the Clare cup after their win over Clooney Quin last evening.

The Blues now enjoy top spot ahead of a full weekend of games this  weekend.

The battle for places in the latter stages of the Clare cup is set to step up a gear this weekend as the competiton enters its closing stages.

The tie of the round is the meeting of neighbours Cratloe and Sixmilebridge  in a repeat of last year’s county championship semi final.

Elsewhere Clonlara will be hoping to keep pace with Newmarket when they travel to Mid Clare to take on Inagh Kilnamona.

2007 county champions Tulla desperately need the points against fellow strugglers Whitegate in a clash of the bottom two sides in the division.

In div 1B meanwhile and Eire Og can also move a step closer to securing a semi final place when they entertain Wolfe Tones while Kilmaley  will be looking to exploit any slip up the Townies when they host Feakle

O Callaghan’s Mills are also in the hunt as they play St Joseph’s while the final Div 1b game is on Sunday as Ballyea look to move away from the bottom of the table when they play Tubber.
