Clare have suffered a one point loss in their opening game in this year’s All Ireland championship in Newmarket losing by 0-16 to 2-9.
Clare led at the break by 1-6 to 0-08 but Cork levelled and took the lead midway through the second half before Deirdre Murphy’s goal brought Clare back into the game 13 minutes from the end

However the National league champions just edged the home side in the clsing stages and gained revenge for their Munster final loss earlier this month to Clare.
The County U16’s were also in action today in the curtain raiser at Newmarket
They lost to Galway by 2-14 to 0-05
