O’Dwyer Appointment To Be Confirmed Tonight

Mick O Dwyer is set to be ratified as the new Clare senior football manger at meeting in Ennis this evening.

The 8-time All Ireland winning boss will join a long list of Kerrymen to take the helm of Clare’s senior footballers when. as expected, he is ratified as the new county manager this evening.

The Waterville native – who won 8 all Ireland titles with Kerry in the 1970’s and 1980’s – is set to take up the position along with Kilkee’s Ger Keane, St Joseph’s Michael Neylon and physical trainer Michael Cahill who has been retained from Michale Mc Dermott’s backroom team.

The 76 year old will take charge of his sixth inter-county side next January in the Mc Grath cup as the county looks to the man known as "Micko" to lead them out of the basement divison in the league and success in the Championship.

The meeting in the West County Hotel begins at 7pm.
