Clare have beaten Leitrim today in their Allianz football league Divison four clash in Carrick On shannon by 1-14 to 2-8
Clare trailed by a point at half time-1-5 to 1-4–David Tubridy’s goal midway through 9 minutes of additional time reviving the visitors challenge after a turgid opeing 25-minutes which saw Leitrim lead by 1-5 to 0-1 after Conor Beirne scored the home sides goal.
In a thrilling second half the sides traded scores with Clare surging ahead through points from Gary Brennan and Podge Mc Mahon and they held on for their first win in this year’s league outscoring their opponents by 10 points to to 1-3 in the second half
Leitrim scored a consolation goal in the final minutes through Emlyn Mulligan with Martin Mc mahon sent off for giving away the free
In the other game in Div 4 today Limerick beat Offaly by 0-12 to 1-8.
