Master fixtures plan proposals revealed

The master fixtures plan for 2013 proposes that the county hurling championship begin on the 18th of May while the race for Jack daly will start on the August bank Holiday weekend.

The plan was presented to last night’s Clare county board meeting wirth delegates set to vote for its approval next Thursday night.

As a result of Clare playing Waterford in the Munster hurling q-final on the 2nd of June the Clare senior hurling championship will provisioanlly begin on the 18th of May.

Round two is scheduled for the 17th of August with the county final pencilled in for the 20th of October.

The Clare senior football championship is set to begin on the August bank holiday weekend with round two a week later and round three at the end of the month.

The county football final is scheduled for the 13th of October.
 
The Cusack cup is provisionally to begin on St Patrick’s day while the Clare Cup is due to begin Easter weekend.

Meanwhile the draw for the county u21 hurling championship-due to start on the 9th of March-will take place tonight at 6pm in Clareabbey.

The county u21 football championship is due to start 24th or 25th of August

Delegates are to return to a special meeting next Thursday to voice their opinions on the plan and vote for its approval or seek alterations.
