Marine Rescue services in North Clare have issued a warning to surfers and other water uses about the dangers of taking to the sea alone.
Yesterday evening Lahinch Sea Rescue launched their boat after a surfer who appeared to be in difficulty was spotted in the water beyond the swell.
The rescue team established that the man was suffering from exhaustion and monitored him as he eventually made his way back to shore where he was then assisted by another surfer
Spokesperson Tommsie O Sullivan says it’s a stark warning to others to always exercise care in the water
