Meanwhile action in the Clare Cup continues this Sunday, as the battles at the top of the Division 1A and 1B tables take centre stage.

As the only team with six wins from their seven games played, Inagh/Kilnamona go into this weekend’s eighth round of Clare Cup action with a two point lead at the top of the table.

However, they could be joined on 12 points by Eire Og, if the townies win when the two teams meet this Sunday.

Also on ten points are Newmarket on Fergus, who are away to Clarecastle, and Cratloe who take on Broadford.

In the other game, Clonlara will look to move off the foot of the table when they play Clooney Quin.

The top two teams also meet in Division 1B – O’Callaghans Mills have a three point gap at the top, so will hold onto that spot even if they’re beaten by Tubber.

Wolfe Tones take on Kilmaley, Scarriff face Tulla and Ruan will go up against Ballyea.

Meanwhile in under-age hurling, O’Callaghans Mills defeated Clooney/Quin 2-12 to 1-09.
