Irish cycling great Sean Kelly has given UCI President Pat McQuaid his backing for re-election.
The Dublin man failed to receive a nomination from Cycling Ireland to enter the process to become UCI president for a third term, but subsequently secured the required nomination from Switzerland.
McQuaid has, as recently as last week, had to deny he has bended the rules for his re-election.
Kelly, speaking on Clare FM’s Morning Focus says Pat McQuaid has the experience to lead cycling in the right direction following recent doping scandals.
