Eire Og and Doonbeg through to Quarter Finals

Following five games over the weekend in the Senior Football Championship. two teams have progressed to the quarter finals, while two teams are already facing relegation.

Eire Og and Doonbeg are the first sides through to the senior championship quarter finals.

Eire Og had a one point victory over St Josephs Doora Barefield on Saturday, while Doonbeg had a 6 point win over St. Senans Kilkee yesterday evening to ease into the last eight.

For Doora/Barefield and Kilkee its action in round 3 next, and a second chance to reach the knock out stages.

There they will be joined by Kilmurry Ibrickane and Kilrush Shamrocks there after they overcame Liscannor and St Breckan’s respectively, in the losers round 2 ties over the weekend.

For Liscannor and St. Breckan’s, they are facing a fight for survival with their next round of action in the relegation play-off.

The round one replay of O’Currys and Shannon Gaels ended in victory for O’Currys meaning they will now meet Ennistymon in Round 2, while Shannon Gaels will face Lissycasey.

Those games are fixed for next Saturday with times and venues TBC at a fixtures meeting tonight.
