In Ladies Football, and after making the move from Junior A last year, Kilmurry Ibrickane can look forward to Senior Football next year, having captured the Intermediate Title yesterday by a narrow three points.
Goalkeeper Melissa McCarthy produced a man of the match performance helping the bricks to a 1-11 to 0-11 win over their near neighbours Miltown.
Burren Gaels took top honours in the Junior A championship final, with victory over Clarecastle. Kayleigh McCormack was awarded the man of the match award for her display at centre back in their comprehensive 5-11 to 0-03 victory.
In camogie, there were championship clashes across the Senior, Intermediate and Junior Grades yesterday.
Senior A
Sixmilebridge beat Inagh Kilnamona in their Group 1 clash in Clarecastle. That finished 4-18 to 1-03. In Group 2, Newmarket on Fergus hosted Kilkishen, in their deferred round 1 game. Newmarket took victory there on a comprehensive scoreline of 7-17 to 3-05. The meeting of Truagh-Clonlara and Clooney-Quin ended in victory for Clooney Quin at 2-11 to 1-4.
Intermediate Championship
Wolfe Tones suffered a heavy defeat to Scariff Ogonnelloe – that ended 4-22 to 0-02 – while Clarecastle got the better of Eire Og 1-10 to 1-07.
Junior A Championship
Ruan beat Killanena/Tulla 3-12 to 1-13
Junior B
Bodyke overcame Kilkishen a narrow 1-08 to 2-04 win.
