Thousands Cheer On Clare Hurlers

Thousands turned out at Cusack Park last night for the Clare Senior Hurlers Open training session ahead of the All Ireland Final against Cork on September 8th.

Supporters watched on as Davy Fitzgerald put his squad through their training drills, while they then had an opportunity to get autographs and photos with the players.

Fitzgerald said it was an important night for their loyal supporters.

Meanwhile, the referee of this year’s All Ireland Hurling Final says he has complete faith in Hawkeye, even though the system has recently become embroiled in controversy.

The scoring detection system wrongly disallowed a point for Limerick’s minors in their All-Ireland semi-final with Galway, with the Treatymen now involved in a series of appeals trying to secure a replay.

However, it has since been re-instated at Croke Park and will be used for the first time in a senior final when Davy Fitzgerald’s side take on Cork on September 8th.
