Murphy Lauds Class Cratloe

Cratloe Selector Martin Murphy hopes the quality of his side will be realised by others outside of their club.

The South East Clare side entered yesterdays Munster Final as massive underdogs, but played out a heartbreaking one point loss to Dr Crokes of Kerry.

Colm Collins charges were seven points down at half time, but produced a spirited second half performance to pull it back level, and then go ahead with four minutes of normal time remaining.

The Kerry side showed their experience however and two late points ended the scoreboard action in Crokes favour through a Daithi Casey Free and a Johnny Buckley point.

Final score in the Gaelic grounds 0-13 points to 0-12 saw Crokes take the O’Connor Cup and capture a three in a row.

Dr. Crokes winning point scorer Johnny Buckley says the physicality and skill of Cratloe made them a high quality opposition to overcome.

Buckley has also pointed towards the many misconceptions about Clare Football in the lead into the decider.
