Munster Council Present Funding To Clare GAA

Seven Clare Clubs and three Schools were recipients of over 55 thousand Euro in development grants from Munster council this year.

The Provincial Chairman – O’Callaghans Mills clubman Robert Frost was in Clareabbey to present the cheques last night.
 
Cratloe, Kilmaley and Smith O’Briens were given sums of 18, 238 towards club development, while Clondegad Cooraclare, Wolfe Tones and St Josephs Doora Barefield recieved funding boosts varying between 2 thousand and 13 thousand euro.
 
The three schools benefiting were Burrane, Quinn and Stonehall National Schools.
 
Burrane received 2,303 euro, Quinn 4050, and Stonehall 5,000 euro.
 
Smith O’Briens secretary Tony O’Brien says a sum of over 18 thousand euro is a massive boost to the continuing development of the Killaloe club.
 
Along with County Football Champions Cratloe, Kilmaley were the other big beneficiaries.
 
Kilmaley Field Development Committee Chairman Tom McNamara says funding for the grassroots creates the conveyor belt of talent.
 
The Clare county board were also presented with two major funding boosts by Munster Council last night.
 
24,000 euro was presented for the ongoing developement of Cusack Park, while over 112 thousand came in a purchase grant.
 
This figure has been allocated to help in the aquisition of land at the back of the Cloister Bad and Restaurant.
 
Clare county board treasurer Bernard Keane says its money that is badly needed.
