The GAA says that it will act "as quickly as possible" to iron out the uncertainty that continues to exist surrounding the taking of penalties and 20-metre frees in hurling.
Sunday's Munster quarter-final replay between Cork and Waterford has created fresh controversy surrounding penalties and close-range frees after Waterford goalkeeper Stephen O'Keeffe rushed off his line to block a penalty attempt from his counter-part, Anthony Nash.
The GAA says that their Management Committee will now recommend an interpretation of the rules to Central Council, ahead of this weekend’s games, including the meeting of Nash’s Cork and Clare.
