Cork exacted revenge for last Septembers All Ireland Final defeat with a 2-23 to 2-18 in this afternoons Munster Hurling semi final.

The opening half was a tight affair with the sides trading scores and the game was level at 0-8 a piece after 24 minutes. Cork then stretched into a two point lead 0-12 to 0-10 with five minutes to go to half time. Pat Horgan then goaled from a 21 yard free to give the Rebels a five point lead. Clare hit back for a goal through John Conlon to leave the half time score Cork 1-13 Clare 1-10.

Cork dominated the second half, and when Horgan got his second goal, this one from a penalty, the Rebels led by 2-20 to 1-16. Darach Honan pulled a goal back late on for the Banner but it was never going to be enough.

A final score of Cork 2-23 Clare 2-18 means that it's a Cork and Limerick Munster Final for the second year running, while Clare now await the qualifier draw on Monday week.
