Loughnane Feels Wexford Clash Could Be Key For Clare

Clare hurling legend Ger Loughnane says this weekend's replay with Wexford will be a defining fixture for Clare.

Clare travel to South-East this Saturday to take on Liam Dunne's side, after they narrowly escaped with a draw in Ennis first time out.

Loughnane, who led Clare to the Liam McCarthy in 1995 & 1997, believes the game could be a turning point for the All Ireland Champions.

Elsewhere, Anthony Cunningham will have to re-apply for the Galway job if he wants to stay on the role.

The Tribesmen are out of the Championship following Saturday's defeat to Tipperary, and after the game Cunningham was non-committal about his future.

His three-year term has now ended, and Galway hurling Chairman Joe Byrne says a process will now need to be put in place to find a manager.
