Westmeath challenge for Clare ladies

In ladies football action, Clare take on Westmeath this afternoon in the opening round of the All Ireland Qualifier series.

John Burkes side are looking to bounce back from defeat against Kerry in the Munster Championship, and have already overcame today's opponents in the National League.

 

 

 

Burke says there will be a different approach to todays clash.

 

 

 

Throw in is at 4pm in Birr.

 

 

 

Elsewhere in ladies football, Kildare take on Tyrone at 5.15pm and Cavan go up against Meath at 7pm. Both those games are in Navan.

 

 

 

In local underage action, Clarecastle claimed the U12C title with a 6-2 to 4-4 win over Kilmurry Ibrickane, while West Clare Gaels captured the U14B crown, beating Miltown by 2-5 to 1-5.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There's also underage camogie action this afternoon. Clare are taking on Cork in Clarecastle at 2.30pm in the All Ireland A Championship.

 

A win for the Banner would see them through to the knockout stages.
