Friday’s Morning Focus opened with a visit from the Australian Ambassador to Ireland, Richard Andrews.

The ambassador was in Clare to take part in a number of engagements, including a visit to St Joseph’s Secondary School in Spanish Point, which is twinned with Clare Valley in Australia.

Then, the talk turned to the issue of flooding with Cllr Tony O’Brien (FF) from Killaloe and Cllr PJ Ryan (IND) from Sixmilebridge. Much-anticipated funding has been allocated by government.

After that, Éilis Murphy of the ‘Clare Together for Yes’ campaign joined Gavin to discuss issues around the forthcoming referendum on May 25.

Former Governor of Maryland Martin O’Malley then spoke to Gavin ahead of his appearance this weekend at the Burren School of Law in Ballyvaughan.
