MORNING FOCUS FRIDAY 10TH OCTOBER

MORNING FOCUS FRIDAY 10TH OCTOBER

Scoil na Mainistreach Quin has been told that there is no funding available for a PE facility and rec room as part of their current extension. The school had been under the impression that there was to be a  two phased approach to the building project, phase 1 included in the building of  8 new classrooms and phase 2 was the building of the PE /Rec room. Jan O'Sullivans office has now said this funding was for the classroom only. The school management are naturally  very disappointed about this and according to them  Scoil na Mainistreach is the only school in Clare to not have a PE/Rec room .Ruairi  Quinn had said he would look into it when he was Minister but  this doesn't seem to be the case under the new Minister.  Cllr  Clare Colleran Molloy  (FF),Ann Fitzpatrick, principal  , Scoil na Mainistreach Quin and Darcy Edmonds, chair of the Parents a association, Scoil na Mainistreach Quin  spoke to Marian about the issue.
