Morning Focus – Friday 15th March 2019

Today’s Morning focus was full of Irish talent and enthusiasm. We heard from Sarah McTernan who is representing Ireland in the Eurovision; Alex Loudon whose family brewery is being showcased in Dublin this weekend PLUS Paddy’s Day Parades across the county and The Friday Panel. Catch up below!

Firstly, Gavin spoke to Joe Russell about Trump’s visit to Doonbeg later this year, which he announced last night at the Taoiseach’s St Patrick’s Day visit.

Next up, Sarah McTernan was talking about representing Ireland in the Eurovision. She talked about how the selection process works, recording her song and filming the video.

Alex Loudon, whose family brewery is attending a craft beer event this weekend in the Dublin Convention Centre, was on air talking about his independent family business. The event is expected to be attended by thousands, which is a real opportunity for their Feakle-based brewery to show what they have to offer.

Then we heard from two third year students, Kate Harty and Katie Duson from Coláiste Mhuire, Ennis about the worlwide schools’ climate change protest happening today.

After the news, we had The Friday Panel, which this week included Martin McMahon Clare Chair, Irish Creamery & Milk Suppliers Association and Michael Vaughan, former president of the Irish Hotels Federation. They covered the Trump visit to Doonbeg, Brexit and Paddy’s Day.

Lastly, we had a round up of parades across the county this weekend for St Patrick’s Day. Gavin spoke to some of the organisers about what we can expect in this weekend’s celebrations.
