On Fridays Morning Focus, we look at how Adare Manor will host the Ryder Cup golf tournament in 2026 after agreement was reached with the European Tour.
The ports Minister Shane Ross says it will result in a boost to the economy of up to 160 million euro. Well the owner of Adare Manor, JP McManus has been reacting to the news, which be believes will bring a huge boost to the Midwest region.
And CEO of Adare Manor, Colm Hannon says Shannon Airport will be a key partner in bringing the tour to the region in 2026.
Good weather has prompted concerns over the extent of outdoor drinking in the centre of Ennis. A number of callers to Morning Focus have raised the issue, as well as business owners operating in The Height. There’s alarm among farmers this week following the publication of a report by the Climate Change Advisory Council, which recommends cutting the number of suckler cows by up to 50% over the next ten years, in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
