On today's edition of Morning Focus with John Cooke
A nephew of former President Paddy Hillery has been appointed as the new administrator of the Diocese of Killaloe. Fr Des Hillery from Miltown Malbay will manage the day to day running of the Diocese until a new Bishop is appointed. Currently the Parish Priest of Nenagh Fr Hillery had previously worked as a teacher in St Flannan's College in Ennis. The appointment has been made following the installation of Archbishop of Cashel and Emily Dr Kieran O' Reilly on Sunday. Fr. Hillery spoke to John about his new role.

The Head of IAG took questions from TDs yesterday about the Aer Lingus takeover bid. Willie Walsh was asked about the future of jobs at the airline, as well as connectivity from Ireland and the Heathrow landing slots. Following this meeting, we were joined in studio by Fine Gael TD Joe Carey and on the line by Fianna Fail TD Timmy Dooley and Senator Tony Mulcahy about their thoughts on the possible takeover. Fine Gael Senator Tony Mulcahy is concerned about the future of  transatlantic flights from Shannon Airport if Aer Lingus is sold and has said he would resign if the sale was to go through.
