Today’s Morning Focus opened with a discussion on growing concerns about tree felling in public paces across the banner county which have now made their way to Europe. Next up on the show, Fiona McGarry was joined by two Clare organ donor recipients who wanted to thank their donors and encourage others to consider organ donation.

Garda Noel Pearse and Noeletta Clifford dropped into the studio to urge families to have conversations with each other about the subject during Organ Donor Awareness Week. Listen back here.

Good health is one of a person’s most prized assets and is the focus of a new strategy launched in the banner county today. Friday wouldn’t be complete without a look back at the stories that grabbed the headlines this week. For today’s Friday panel, Fiona was joined by Manuel di Lucia, Diarmuid McMahon and Martin Waldron for a lively discussion on new proposals for the Leaving Cert, winter v summertime, the latest on Brexit and should we pay a higher tv licence fee to save Dancing With The Stars. Finally on today’s show, we heard from Karen Penny from Pennard in Swansea who has been walking around the coast of Wales and Ireland since January 14th, to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research. She’s been in Clare recently and told Fiona McGarry all about her adventures.
