On Mondays Morning Focus Marian Egan was in studio this morning. Marian began by speaking to John Hennessy – National Director of Primary Care with the HSE. John spoke to Marian to clarify the process that the PCRS will take regarding the restoration of discretionary medical cards as well as outlining the other supports and services available to those who may no longer be in receipt of a medical card.
Up next Paddy Hassett Clare vet and Spancilhill Horse Fair Veteran chatted to Marian as up to 5 thousand people from across the country and further a field are set to descend on Spancilhill today for the world famous annual horse fair. The traditional event has been held at the famous crossroads for over 300 years with plenty of wheeling and dealing expected to take place.
The Banner were on the wrong side of a 1-17 to 1-13 score line on Sunday when they took on Kerry in the Munster Semi Final. We heard from Manager Colm Collins as he gave his reaction to the game. We also took a look at the draw for the first round of the All Ireland Hurling Qualifier Series which took place this morning with Clare Man and Sport Journalist Christy O'Connor. Clare have been selected to go up against Wexford in the first round of the qualifiers.

Clare FM's Aisling O'Rourke was at The Spancilhill Horse Fair she had a word with Marian about how the annual event is building this morning and she also had a chat to many people that travelled to be in Clare this morning.
Marian was joined in studio by Brid McNamara – PRO of Clare Camogie and Joe Robbins – Chairperson of Clare Camogie to discuss a fundraising event for Clare Camogie. The completion of Fr McNamara Park requires money for the erection of dressing rooms and the laying of the car park. Phase 1 which included pitch layout, goalposts, netting behind goals, practice pitch, external fencing and the connection to services is almost complete. The Worldwide Appeal will be launched on Monday 23rd June at Fr McNamara Park 6.30pm-7.30pm.
John Murphy, wildlife expert and Chairperson of the Clare branch of Birdwatch Ireland joined John in studio to answer listeners' bird and wildlife queries.
