Morning Focus Monday March 4

The Irish Hotels Federation’s 2013 Annual Conference is taking place today and tomorrow in Killarney

On Monday’s Morning Focus John Cooke spoke with Lahinch hotelier and President of the Irish Hotels’ Federation Michael Vaughan who called on the Central Statistics Office to improve the quality of the data it provides on tourism
It comes after figures show there was a significant decrease in the number of British tourists visiting Ireland last year – down 100,000
The IHF says the information the CSO currently provides is quite vague – and that Ireland has more national data on the movement of its cows than visitors.
