The issue of pedestrinisation of parts of Ennis around the Christmas period was raised at this weeks meeting of the Ennis municipal district. Ger Dollard Director of Services is looking for a permanent decision as opposed to the ad hoc format at present. Ger was joined by Paddy Darmody, president of the Ennis Chamber  to discuss the proposals with Marian .

Today is World Sight Day  and to mark it Gavin spoke with Paraic Barnes . Paraic is 51 and from Ennis and went totally blind due to detached retina a few years ago. Paraic works in the Department of Education and has used NCBI's services to help overcome some of the challenges of sight loss and come to terms with the emotional side of losing your sight. Paraic has, in his own words, turned from being a "total dinosaur" when it comes to technology to someone who embraces it to help maintain his independence. His smartphone is now his lifeline.

To celebrate World Mental Health day protecting your mental well- being. Ennis mental health associaiation are hosting a public talk theme "flagging Depression 5 step recovery plan "guest speaker Dr Harry Barry at the temple gate hotel Thursday October 9th at 7:30 pm Admission Free all are welcome . Dr  Barry is the author of the 'Flagging' Series of books  which looks at various aspects of mental health and he spoke with Marian ahead of tonight's event.

As Always on a Thursday Dr Maire Finn of the Ennis family medical centre joined us in studio to answewr listners health queries. This week dr Finn focused on Asthma and its associated problems.

Ahead of Sundays county final we got the latest from the Cloney Quin and Kilmaley camps. Anne McMahonKilmaley Club PRO  and  Maria Kennedy Cloney Quinn Club Secretary  joined Marian ahead of the big game.

Patrick Dwyer  was with us to promote a Percy French  concert he has organised  to help raise funds  for Slainte An Chlair ( cancer after care) and Oidhreacht An Chlair(cultural centre). Patrick has a particular interest in French and taled about his own cancer story, his trips along the West Clare Railway and spoke about the varied lifestyle of French. Patrick also had his guitar with him and played out with a Percy French tribute.
