Marie in Ballynacally Called the show regarding the Eircom shutdown yesterday morning, saying that it was hours before her phones were up and running again, and her house alarm because it is connected to Eircom Phonewatch. The situation that arose yesterday with the phonelines was not too unfamiliar to Marie and where she is in Ballynacally as they have all round Coverage issues and says something has to be done to improve things.

Reports say that paramedics at the Scariff ambulance base were alerted to a young mother who was in the late stages of labour on Monday evening around 5.10pm. Arriving at the scene, it was established that there wasn't enough time to transport the woman to University Maternity Hosptial Limerick, fifty kilometres away from her home. Within ten minutes, medical personnel delivered a baby safely. The following night, the Scarriff ambulance crew were called to Nenagh in South Tipperary, leaving East Clare without cover. Kilrush Councillor Ian Lynch is quoted as saying "it was pure luck" that an ambulance was available on Monday night. He is calling on the Minister for Health Leo Varadkar to intervene in what he's calling an ongoing crisis facing rural areas in Clare. FG Cllr Joe Cooney Bodyke spoke to Gavin about the concerns

Clare storyteller and friend of the fairies, Eddie Lenihan, has warned bad things will happen at the West Pharmaceutical Services factory in Waterford, if an ancient fairy fort is destroyed as part of the construction process. The Crusheen man has written to the American company behind the factory, warning them that ill luck will follow all those involved in clearing the fairy fort — saying it is a question of when and not if, the fairies will decide to take their revenge.The factory is currently under construction at Knockhouse in Waterford and is set to deliver more than 150 jobs to the locality when finished in 2018. Eddie had more for us this morning.

Fr. Donagh O Meara P.P Bodyke / Ogonnelloe spoke to us about initiatives taking place in his parish in a bit to bring life back into this beautiful rural village. Tonight in the Hall in Ogonnolloe at 8PM there is a community meeting being held to talk about including / improving broadband in the area. On Friday in Caherhurley parish of Bodyke they are holding a Mass and get-together there. Local volunteers have done a major clean up of the area surrounding the Mass Rock site. On Saturday there is a coffee Morning to bring people in the community together to meet and share ideas on how to rejuvinate the parish.
