Morning Focus – Tuesday, 12th March 2019

Today we heard both national and local news from Brexit and the backstop, to Miltown Malbay and their inclusive St Patrick’s Day Parade. We also heard from songwriter Johnny Duhan, Tommy Corbett gave advice on investments and we found out what was discovered in a personal archive in Kilrush house sale. Don’t worry if you missed out, we have the best bits below:

First up on the show we heard from Political Editor at the Sunday Business Post, Michael Brennan, about what Theresa’s talks last night means for brexit, the backstop and Irish politics ahead of the vote this evening.

Next up, Gavin spoke to Cllr John Crowe (FG) and Cllr Alan O’Callaghan (FF) about the appointment of Michael Gubbins as Clare’s new Chief Superintendent, who will take up his position in two weeks’ time.

Then we heard from autism expert at UCC, Susan Crawford, on the Miltown-Malby Parade becoming autism-friendly this year. Should other parades follow suit?

Next up, Gavin heard from Dr Paul O’Brien about a historical archive found in a Kilrush house sale, which was once owned by Joseph Barrett, a member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood and the IRA.
