Morning Focus – Tuesday 27/08/19

The show opened with a discussion with Green Cllr Roisín Garvey who told Gavin why she’s disappointed with the limitations of plans unveiled by Minister Richard Bruton to roll-out more charging points for electric vehicles (EVs) under the direction of local authorities.

After that Junior Minister Seán Canney joined Gavin to explain why he’s adamant the procurement process for the National Broadband Plan should not be re-opened.

Then, Morning Focus producer Fiona McGarry reported on controversy surrounding cycle lanes and traffic calming between the Kilrush Road in Ennis and the roundabout at St Flannan’s College. Among the local residents she spoke to was former Mayor of Clare, Tommy Brennan.

More information is available from Helen Moloney at Clare County Council (hmoloney@clarecoco.ie or 065 6846240). Nominations close on the September 12.

Then, there was a special package from the Health and Wellness Centre at Carrigoran House in Newmarket-on-Fergus where regular attendees celebrated Heritage Week with a knit-bombing event. Morning Focus producer Fiona McGarry reported on afternoon. Listen back below:
