The government has been asked to contact the office of the US President to aid a Clareman who has been in detention in the states or nearly two weeks
The father of two who hails from the North Clare area, has been living in Boston for twelve years and employs 11 people in his construction firm, but was among those arrested earlier this month as part of what’s been described as a raid on Irish immigrants in the city
It’s feared he could now remain in custody for up to two months
His case was raised in the Dail where  Tanaiste and Foreign Affairs Minister Eamon Gilmore insisted the plight of the undocumented Irish remains a priority while he insisted the Irish community is not being targeted
