On Tuesday’s Morning Focus Marian Egan spoke with Kilrush native Joe Riley in the Philipines after typhoon Haiyan

Joe has been in Manila for the past twenty years and spoke about the utter devastation there in the wake of their worst storm ever that has displaced over nine million people
He says the islands are totally wiped out – but the extent of the damage is unknown
Meanwhile back home the Irish government has pledged one million euro in emergency aid to the Philippines as charities continue to fight to get help to millions of people in the affected areas.

In his autobiography the often controversial jounralist and commentator Eamon Dunphy tells the story of his life
He spoke with Marian about the book, his views on Ireland’s latest football partnership and Irish life

Mary Meaney from Ballynacally recently launched her personal memoir ‘Singing As I Go’
It’s a social history of her time in West Clare- Mary was born into a post office in Ballynacally and then married and moved to Coney Island in the Shannon Estuary 
Marian began by asking her what Ballynacally was like when she was growing up in the 30s.
