Morning Focus – Wednesday, December 23, 2015

With the festive season drawing close, we heard more from members of the Poetry Collective, Mary Ellen Feen, Fred Johnston and Peter Kay.
The mother of a young Ennis CF patient, Nicola Cusack, made a heartfelt plea on Facebook this week for more government support for CF patients. She joined Gavin in studio to explain why she feels more help is needed for her daughter Amy (7) and others like her.
Clare charities have been able to connect to surplus food stocks via the social enterprise, FoodCloud. The organisation has provided more than 35-thousand meals to the needy here in County Clare over the last year. Gavin heard more from Iseult Ward CEO of FoodCloud.
Gavin spoke to Poetry Collective members Mary Ellen Feen, Peter Kay, Arthur Watson and Fred Johnston.
Ahead of the Christmas period, our round-up of local events heard about Lahinch Christmas Day Swim; Doonbeg FC Christmas Swim and the Burren Charity Challenge.
Popular singer-songwriter and actor Tommy Fleming joined Gavin in studio ahead of a very special concert at glory, Ennis.
Morning Focus checked in again with events around Clare, including a walk to Moylussa in Ogonello; a Christmas Day swim in aid of the West Clare Mini-Marathon at Gortlglas Lake Kildysart; and the Irish Christmas Tree Throwing Championship taking place in Ennis on Sunday, January 3.
