The local authority has been ordered to pay 5,000 euro for breaching it’s air pollution control licence by allowing certain gases to escape from the county’s main dumping site at Ballyduffbeg causing anxiety for residents in the Inagh area

The Irish Examiner/ICMSA survey found that despite the huge difficulties facing all sectors of the economy in recent years, the vast majority of farmers would not change their profession even if they had the chance. In fact, just one in 10 farmers surveyed said they would not choose farming as a career if they could have their time back again

Kilkee resident Bernie Devaney spoke with John about her experience of carbon monoxide
About two and a half years ago Bernie and few other ladies were visiting their friend in a house in Kilkee
They were there a little while when they began to feel faint – the lady of the house phoned Shannon Doc
Bernie was semiconscious when the paramedics and the Gardai arrived – they were all sent to hospital and had experienced a near miss of carbon monoxide poisoning
Bernie’s message was for people to be vigilant and aware of this silent killer.
