The Today show – Monday February 27th

Dermot Hogan, Clare FM reporter hit the streets of Ennis to gauge the opinions of the people of county Clare on how they felt the government have performed in their first year in charge. Has anything got better or have the bad days become more common and often?

Clare FM’s resident Film Reviewer Stephen McDermott was in studio to discuss last night’s Oscars. Some of his personal highlights of the award ceremony included the return of Billy Crystal as the host and why his huge popularity and entertainment value could surely secure his role for next year’s ceremony again. The red carpet was full of glamour as always but it was Sacha Baron who attracted most of the media attention dressed as his alter ego General Aladeen. His pressence came with the expected controversy. Stephen also discussed all the winners and gave a big mention to the irish short that brought some Oscar glory to Ireland once again!

Paul “Calso” Callaghan – our resident Chef and Food Blogger was live in studio to give us some advice on growing your own food at home. Paul gave us great tips on some vegetables that could be easily grown with very little effort, maintenance and preparation. For details see

Stylist Tess Purcell talked fashion, style, and the latest trends on the red carpet for Oscar night. Elegance and simplicity were the common factors of all those who looked fantastic at the ceremony. From small black numbers with plunging necklines to nude shade shoes Tess explains how the people of Clare can also pull off and attain inspiration from the fashion of Hollywood’s finest.

Clare’s Got Talent judge Tracy Crawford spoke with Gavin to discuss last night’s second semi-final. The step up from the audition stage to the live show was huge and she explained the difficulty the judges had in picking contestants to go through to the final. The third semi-final of Clare’s Got Talent will take place on Sunday March 11th.
