Ireland’s COVID-19 Death Toll Hits 610

The National Public Health Emergency Team has confirmed 39 further deaths due to COVID-19 nationwide.

It means a total of 610 lives have been lost to the virus in the Republic of Ireland.

Two new cases of the virus have been recorded in Clare, bringing the county’s tally to 153.

When broken down, the age range of the deaths is from 23 to 105, with 337 of the cases admitted to hospital.

46 of those were treated in the intensive care unit.

493 new COVID-19 diagnoses have been confirmed nationally, with 48 of those reported by a laboratory based in Germany.

In total, 15,251 people across the Republic of Ireland have been diagnosed with the virus since the outbreak began, with 15% of cases resulting in hospitalisation.
