Clare has been allocated over 1.2 million euro for private housing grants in 2014.
The Minister for Housing has allocated 38.4m to local authorities across Ireland for a range of these types of grants, an increase of 11 per cent from last year.
Minister O’Sullivan hopes that up to 7800 households will benefit from the schemes given this extra funding.
Clare County Council will contribute an additional 20% from its own resources for works here.
