The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland has announced 1.3 million euro for the Westwave project off the coast of Clare.
The funding will go towards environmental and feasibility studies at the ESB sitte.

The SEAI says Westwave represents one of the most significant efforts worldwide in this field.
50 construction jobs are expected initally, however if this pilot is successful several more are anticipated.
