144 new gardai are graduating from Templemore Garda college this afternoon.
The men and women from two classes include nine gardai from the US, Poland, England and Romania.
After a period of closure during the worst of the crisis, the halls of Templemore Garda college are bustling again.
144 men and women from two groups began their BA in Applied policing last November, and have now completed phase 1 of their training.
The 103 men and 41 women will have their passing out ceremony this afternoon witnessed by their proud families
While the vast majority are Irish citizens, 9 of the new gardai come from abroad; 5 from the UK, two from Poland, 1 from the US and 1 from Romania.
The probationer gardai will now begin phase two of their training, on the job in stations around the country, with just over half of them in branches in greater Dublin,
