A reduction of 15 per cent in the Local Property Tax in Clare is being described as a light at the end of the tunnel.

A majority of 17 councillors voted at a special meeting of Clare County Council yesterday to implement the reduction.
Ten councillors including all Fine Gael Public Representatives and independents Ian Lynch and Christy Curtin voted against the change.
However the motion passed and will now come into affect in January.
