1,600 In Clare Close Pandemic Unemployment Support Claims

Over a third of those who had been on the Pandemic Unemployment Support in Clare have now closed their claims.

At the start of May, the State was paying 14,600 people here as part of the response to COVID-19, but that number has now dropped to 8,000 in a sign that more people are now returning to work.

Across the country, over 345,000 people are still availing of the payment, according to the latest figures from the Department of Social Protection.
