6 Clare Schools are set to represent the county at the 2013 BT Young Scientist Exhibition.
A total of 18 projects have been approved with students from Mary Immaculate Secondary School, Meánscoil Na Mbráithre, Scoil Mhuire, Rice College, Saint John Bosco and Ennis Community Colleges all taking part.
Among the scientific experiments being put to the judges by the Clare pupils includes "Factors affecting how slugs sense food" ; Does the size of population of an area affect the ability of GAA clubs to win trophies?"; "a study of curvature of hair" and Computer and internet usage among adults in North Clare"
Overall there are almost 19 hundred entries spanning 32 counties taking part with a total of 362 schools participating in areas like biology, mathematical sciences and technology and the event take place in January
