20-Year Old West Clare Man Pleads Not Guilty To Causing Death Of Alan Rynne

A 20-year old west Clare man has pleaded not guilty to the dangerous driving causing the death of Alan Rynne (30) in June 2018.

Before a jury panel at Ennis Circuit Court, Tadgh O’Neill of Poulawilliam, Miltown Malbay pleaded not guilty to the dangerous driving causing the death of Mr Rynne on June 18th 2018 at Caherogan, 3km from Miltown Malbay.

Mr O’Neill did plead guilty to driving over the legal alcohol limit on the night and also driving without insurance.

The trial of Mr O’Neill for the dangerous driving causing death of Mr Rynne is to commence before a jury on Tuesday.

Counsel for the State, Lorcan Connolly BL told the jury panel that Mr Rynne was from Inagh, Co Clare. 

Mr Connolly said that witnesses due to be called by the State in the case will be David Fox, Caitriona O’Neill, John Joe Killeen, Eoin O’Sullivan and a number of Garda and Fire Service witnesses.

Mr Connolly stated that the case will last a number of days.
