Over 250 Positive COVID Cases From Outbreaks Among Students In Galway And Limerick

Senior health officials have expressed concern over COVID-19 outbreaks among third level students in Galway and Limerick.

Last night’s public health briefing heard that there are 135 confirmed COVID cases associated with an outbreak among students in Galway, along with dozens more of suspected cases.

In Limerick, 120 students have tested positive for the virus and widespread screening has been offered to students at UL since last week.

Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ronan Glynn has praised the public health teams in both areas for their efforts to contain the virus.
