More than 2,500 people in Clare have closed their Pandemic Unemployment Payment since the start of this month.
The latest figures from the Department of Social Protection show 5,235 people received the state support into their bank account this week, with 315 people returning to work in the past week.
The figure is more than 9,600 fewer than the peak of 14,869 in May of 2020.

Separately, the number of people who have been medically certified to receive the Enhanced Illness Benefit in Clare has climbed to 3,171.
