The number of new start-up companies has dropped by over a quarter.
Research from CRIF Vision-Net recorded a total of 234 start-ups in Clare so far this year, compared to 316 during the same period in 2019.
Clare’s start-up companies make up just over 3% of the national total of 9,853 – which is the lowest number on record since 2015.

April 2020 was the worst month for start-up companies across Clare and the rest of Ireland since December 2012, with these being attributed to the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic.
