There has been a sharp rise in the level of overcrowding at the regions main hospital today.
The latest INMO figures show 29 patients were left waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, nine of those in the emergency department.
It’s 14 more than the next busiest facility, and comes on a day when 82 people were waiting for a bed at hospitals across the country.
