The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital has risen sharply today.
The latest INMO figures show 35 patients were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 19 of those in the emergency department.
The overall figure is more than twice that of the next busiest facility, on a day where 123 people are waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
