44 On Trolleys At UHL

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital has fallen slightly today but remains more than twice that of any other facility.

The latest INMO figures show there were 44 people waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick as of this morning, 38 of those in the emergency department.

The overall figure is 26 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when 147 people were waiting to be admitted at hospitals across the country.
