49 On Trolleys At UHL

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is on the rise once again as the week begins.

The latest figures from nurses union the INMO shows 49 people were waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 36 of those in the emergency Department.

The overall figure is only three higher than the next busiest facility; Cork University Hospital and comes on a day when 343 people have been left waiting on admission at hospitals across the country.
