A further seven people have begun treatment for COVID-19 at University Hospital Limerick in the past 24 hours.
Latest HSE figures show 54 people with the virus are in UHL this morning – a number which has more than trebled in a week.
There are now eight people in the Dooradoyle facility receiving critical care, which is the joint highest in the country.

It comes as overcrowding at the hospital remains the highest in the country.
54 patients are waiting for a bed as of this morning according to the INMO – 44 of these in the emergency department.
